The largest park in the city is Alamitos Park and boasts a vast array of facilities for visitors to enjoy. The park is home to playgrounds, picnic areas and various sporting fields. The park also features a nature center where visitors can learn about the region’s fauna and flora.Those looking to do something more active can explore the various walking and bike paths in Long Beach. 

The city’s bike share program allows visitors to rent a bike and get around the city with ease. Whether you are looking to take a scenic cruise on the water or ride in an exotic car, there is sure to be an adventure that suits your tastes.Most parts of Long Beach are very safe, however, there are a few locations that should be avoided after dark. Visitors are encouraged to use caution in the southwestern portion of the city along Redondo Blvd and 4th Street as well as along the Signal Hill border.
